2 · Frame

BVH frame 1 is SL's hidden reference. Edit frame 2+ for an in-world pose.

Useful for Linden built-in BVHs whose first frame is already the visible pose.

3 · HUD anchor compensation

Choose where the physical follower hitbox will be. The editor applies the inverse translation needed to bring the visible body back into the pose.

The facing rule uses the final physical X/Y anchor. For an ABOVE/BELOW anchor with no horizontal offset, FACE and AWAY fall back to the leader's heading. Use 180° correction to reverse it.

Research notes

Why the exporter uses two frames

SL discards BVH frame 1 and uses differences from it to decide which joints the animation controls. A static pose therefore needs a reference frame plus a visible pose frame.

Why root offsets use inches

SL's BVH importer converts root position from inches. The supported relative range is approximately ±196.85 inches, or ±5 metres, per axis.

What this file does not encode

Upload priority, looping, hand pose, facial expression, and ease in/out are selected in the SL upload window and are not ordinary BVH fields.
